A Walk Along the Nature Trail of Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Buffalo Grove

One of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors in Illinois is by visiting Independence Grove Forest Preserve. This beautiful 720-acre forest preserve located in Buffalo Grove, IL has a 2.8-mile looped nature trail for visitors to explore. The maple trees are usually changing colors during early October and their leaves provide an excellent backdrop for photos with friends or family members. The walk from our car to the nature trail was a short one, but well worth it. The area around us became darker as we walked into the forest and away from any lights or roads. Independence Grove Forest Preserve offers quite an adventure with hiking trails throughout its vast property! It was very peaceful walking along the trail at night listening to all the creatures around us living their lives undisturbed by human beings.
