At Cadence PT, we offer highly specialized therapy services to our Arlington Heights patients. We diagnose and treat many different conditions relating to the neck, shoulder, back, and knees, and provide comprehensive and holistic care that is unlike any that you can receive elsewhere. Our aim is to provide Arlington Heights patients with the most personalized and effective care that it is possible to receive.
There are many things that set our care apart from other PTs. We focus our attention on back, knee, neck, and shoulder problems and pain meaning that each of our physicians is a specialist in these areas. We offer one on one care rather than group therapy so that each of our customers gets 45 minutes of personalized attention at each appointment. We also do not employ unlicensed staff members such as PT assistants or aides, meaning that only trained and licensed physical therapists are involved in the care of our patients.
Finally, we have access to the very best technologies that allow us to customize our treatment to each of our patients’ needs. We employ electrical stimulation, laser therapy, ultrasound treatment, Dr. Ban’s Topical Gel, and more for quick pain relief, long-term results, and shorter treatment plans.
Services Offered in Arlington Heights
As previously mentioned, we focus our care on physical therapy patients with knee, shoulder, neck, and back pain. Whether the pain is due to an injury, surgery recovery, or is a chronic problem, the pain can be debilitating and life-altering. That is why we offer specialized services for each of these areas to get our Arlington Heights patients back on their feet faster.
When it comes to knee pain, our goal is to increase mobility, decrease pain, and make surgery less likely. Depending on the condition, treatment plans may include both resistance and aerobic exercise, exercises to complete at home, and pain treatment therapies. Our therapists stress the importance of staying active as motion will help to bring healing.
There are many things that could be contributing to a patient’s shoulder pain. Whether it is a labral tear, an injury to the rotator cuff, tendon problems, or other causes, our process will help to minimize or even completely eradicate the pain. We help athletes get back to their regular routines faster, and we help patients get back to everyday activities such as picking up the kids and doing household work.
Neck pain can cause a wide range of discomforts such as headaches, pain radiating to the shoulder and arms, stiffness, tingling, and difficulty gripping objects. No two recovery programs are the same. After diagnosis, we use a unique combination of exercises, stretches, laser therapy, and more to treat the pain with the least amount of appointments.
Back pain can be extremely debilitating and can interfere with daily activities. We treat pain that occurs in the upper back, middle back, and lower back, including the sciatic nerves. From back spasms to a herniated disc, we have the treatment for back pain relief.
Upper and Middle Back Pain
There are many things that can cause pain in the upper and middle back. Poor posture, repetitive motion, injury, and a combination of these factors can lead to pain. When dealing with upper back pain, we formulate a unique treatment plan to ensure that the pain diminishes, and we teach methods to keep the pain from returning.
Lower Back Pain
There are many treatments that can help a patient with lower back pain. Whether the pain is stemming from pressure on the sciatic nerve, or from problems with the disc, our stretches, exercises, and therapies can help to ease this pain and strengthen the muscles to keep it from coming back.
The sciatic nerve starts in the lower back and then goes down the back of the leg and into the foot and toes. It is the largest nerve in the human body and can be the cause of many complaints of pain. Sciatica refers to the symptoms that occur when pressure is put on this nerve.
Sciatica can result in pain in the leg and foot as well as numbness, tingling, and weakness. It is important to remember that sciatica is a symptom, not a diagnosis, and can have many different causes. At Cadence PT, we use advanced technologies and other sciatica pain treatment plans to relieve the pain, resolve the root cause, and get you back on the road to healing.
Herniated Spinal Discs
In the spine, there are three sections called the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar. Each section is made of vertebrae which are separated by discs. Each disc is made from an annulus fibrosus which encases the jelly-like core called the nucleus pulposus. When a tear forms in the annulus, the nucleus can escape through the tear and press against the spinal cord or against a nerve root.
When this happens, it can be extremely painful for the patient. Herniated discs are discs that are considered to be in the last stage of degeneration. Our goal is to treat the disc and eliminate the need for surgery. Most herniated discs can be successfully treated without resorting to surgery.
Bulging Spinal Discs
A bulging disc is when the nucleus presses against the annulus without breaking through. Because there is not much room in the spinal canal, this bulging, or prolapse, can still cause considerable pain. Thankfully, there are many treatments that we can employ to rehabilitate the disc and treat the pain.
Whether your pain is in your neck, shoulders, back, or knee, our team of experienced physical therapists is here to help you rehabilitate the injury, strengthen your body, and ultimately return to normal life. Through advanced technologies and techniques, exercise, and education about a healthy lifestyle, the body has an amazing capacity to heal itself from a wide range of injuries.
