Dr. Michelle Chernyavsky, PT, DPT
Hailing from Buffalo Grove, Michelle Chernyavsky is a proud graduate of Adlai Stevenson High School. Her passion for physical therapy took her to Saint Louis University, where her academic achievements allowed her to graduate on an advanced track.
Michelle is driven by core values such as empathy, integrity, and altruism. She believes strongly in giving back to her community. Her guiding quote: “It’s not about what you walk away from, it’s about what you walk away with,” reflects her life’s philosophy.
With her role at Cadence, Michelle is not just limited to evaluations and treatment plans; she has a soft corner for children and Russian-speaking patients, establishing a deeper connection given her background. One of her primary concerns is the increased dependence patients often face regarding Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and overall functionality. She aims to help patients reclaim their independence, enhancing their overall quality of life.
Outside the therapeutic environment, Michelle is a cinephile, with “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” being her favorite movie. She’s also a fan of the “Love Island UK” show and lists “The Picture of Dorian Gray” as a favored read.
The supportive and open environment at Cadence Physical Therapy is what she cherishes the most about her workplace. She knows she’s amongst peers who’ll always have her back.
When not immersed in her professional world, Michelle loves to bond with family and friends, whip up culinary delights, and stay fit with classes at Orange Theory Fitness.
